Design Intern

Grit and Virtue exists to equip entrepreneurial women to build unstoppable momentum, become spiritually confident, and to never feel alone on the journey.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and creative intern who resonates with our mission and desires to use her talents to equip women entrepreneurs. In this role, you will assist our Head of Design + Tech with web design as well as designing marketing collateral. You'll get to be mentored by a recognized design professional with 13 years in the industry. You will also interface with photographers and curate our photographic images. This is an awesome opportunity to grow in your craft as well as gain insight into what goes into branding and launching a business.

We prefer a design student residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, but will make an exception for the right candidate. This is an unpaid internship.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and creating marketing collateral that includes but is not limited to: web graphics, conference materials, and more.
  • Production work that includes, but is not limited to, formatting, exporting, uploading, and collection of various project types.
  • Interface and communicate with photographers to curate our library of photographs and images for our website, social media platforms, and any other medium as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Ability to recognize and keep the integrity of Grit & Virtue's design aesthetic
  • Hands on knowledge in designing with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • A passion for photography
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Team player but also able to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow
  • Has own laptop to use and access to Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign)

Bonus points:

  • Strong visualization and mock-up skills
  • Experience with any other applications, such as AfterEffects.
  • An eye for typography (proper kerning, leading, etc.) & grid systems
  • Experience designing for the web as well as print media
